Organization-based postgraduate fellowships are typically administered and funded by the organization the fellow will be working for. The organization determines the scope of the fellow’s work and the duration of the fellowship term.
Organization-based fellowship applications typically call for a resume, transcript, personal statement or writing sample, and one or more letters of recommendation. The employer organization will look for skills, experiences, and qualities related to the work the fellow will perform.
For example, when a law reform and policy organization such as the ACLU hires an organizational fellow, they tend to look for clinic experience, internships at impact organizations, journal work, and judicial clerkships.
Two fellowships that are limited to three law schools, including Texas Law, are Manne Family Legal Fellowships with the Texas Defender Service and Texas Civil Rights Project.
