The Immigration and Civil Rights clinical professors joined dozens of attorneys, academics and legal professionals together with immigration advocacy organizations to call for the end to family detention practices in a letter to President Barack Obama and the Department of Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson. The letter specifically seeks the immediate release of the refugee families currently held in jail-like facilities in Karnes City and Dilley, Texas and Berks County, Pennsylvania.
