Being a student attorney in the Domestic Violence Clinic was the perfect gentle transition into being a real lawyer. I was terrified at the prospect of going to court and being “first chair” on a case, but Jeana gave me just the right amount of support and encouragement, and I was so proud of myself when I walked out of that courtroom. In my second semester, as an advanced student, I was given more freedom to choose my projects, and I had the privilege of working on the parole packet for a transgender woman who was in prison because of her abuser. My experiences in the Domestic Violence Clinic were varied and meaningful, and I’m so glad I chose it as my first clinic!
