Learning outcomes are concise statements of knowledge students are expected to acquire, skills students are expected to develop, and/or values they are expected to understand and integrate into their professional behavior. A student’s progress in achieving each learning outcome should be measurable by one of your assessment methods (even if it is not part of the student’s final grade). It is advisable to have at least several learning outcomes, but more is not necessarily better.
