    SCOTUS 2014 Term Review

    Join the American Constitution Society for a review of the recent U.S. Supreme Court Term with Jason Steed. Mr. Steed will discuss the issues and decisions from this Term's most important cases. He will also review the overall trends that emerged from the Term. To conclude, Mr. Steed will provide his insight into several cases from the Court's next Term as well as the possibility of a retirement on the Court.

    Come learn about opportunities to practice law in the U.S. Air Force JAG program. Capt. Micah Pischnotte will be available to answer questions about the Air Force JAG Corps program specifically and the Air Force in general, and will advise students on the application process.     Please join the Environmental Law Society for a lunch talk with Earthjustice attorney and UT Law alum, Mary Whittle. The lunch will be very casual and students should feel free to ask career related questions regarding public-interest environmental law and working with Earthjustice.

    Earthjustice is a non-profit public interest law organization based in the United States dedicated to environmental issues.

    Join ACS for a conversation with Goodwin Liu, one of the most prominent young judges in the United States. Justice Liu was a Rhodes Scholar and clerk for Ruth Bader Ginsburg, then an attorney in various federal government roles, and then a member of the faculty at Berkeley Law. After Republicans filibustered President Obama's nomination of Liu to the Ninth Circuit, Liu was appointed to the California Supreme Court, where he now serves.     Please join the Environmental Law Society for a panel on Environmental Justice, with a focus on Texas. This panel features two guest speakers who will share their experiences working on environmental justice issues in Texas, as well as the benefits of practicing public interest law.

    Professor Josh Blackman of South Texas College of Law and Mr. Cody Wilson, founder of Defense Distributed and former UT Law student, discuss the fascinating legal issues relating to the enterprise of printing 3D guns and gun parts. Cody Wilson is regularly in litigation and often draws the ire of federal gun regulators. Prof. Blackman has represented him in court, and is himself an expert on the constitutionality of Defense Distributed's activities.
