Law Week: Food Drive

Throughout law week, SBA is collecting non-perishable food items to benefit the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas. We are seeking healthy, non-perishable food items with intact, un-opened consumer or commercial and in non-breakable packaging. The items in highest demand are:

• peanut butter, • canned chicken breast or tuna, • canned low sodium vegetables, • canned fruit in its own juice (no sugar added), • dry pinto beans, • brown rice, • non-fat dry milk powder, and • 100% whole grain cereal.

Collection boxes will be located in the Atrium Monday through Thursday.

Townes Hall Morning Coffee (sponsored by the Alumni Association)

On Monday, February 1, the Texas Law Alumni Association is pleased to announce that it will kick off its Spring 2016 Townes Hall Morning Coffee for all students every Monday morning. Please bring your favorite travel mug from home (we are “going green,” so no paper products will be provided) and enjoy FREE coffee every Monday morning to start off your week on behalf of the Alumni Association. Coffee will be located at one, large station located near the 1L Classrooms (by TNH 2.140, TNH 2.139, etc.) beginning at 8:45 am.

Samia Broadaway - environmental attorney at Bakerbotts LLP. Samia works on a variety of environmental matters including environmental permitting, environmental litigation, and regulatory compliance matters at the state and federal levels. Her experience includes water quality, water rights, air quality, enforcement, and waste issues.

Katie Bennett Hobson - environmental attorney at Katten Muchin. Katie focuses her practice on environmental regulatory matters, with an emphasis on the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act and climate change policy and regulation.
