GIDEON’S ARMY (HBO Documentary Films, 2013 Sundance Films Official Selection) follows the personal stories of Travis Williams, Brandy Alexander and June Hardwick, three young public defenders who are part of a small group of idealistic lawyers in the Deep South challenging the assumptions that drive a criminal justice system strained to the breaking point. Refreshments will be served.

Mark Levy, '01, will discuss internship opportunities available in the Texas Office of the Attorney General - Antitrust Division, which may qualify for academic credit. Lunch will be served.

The second round of student interview awards are released today at noon (Central) via UT Law Symplicity.

Are you a 2L thinking of applying for a postgraduate public interest fellowship? Are you a 3L thinking about applying for one after your judicial clerkship? A panel of current fellows will address how you should be preparing now to position yourself as a viable candidate for these highly competitive fellowships. Lunch will be served.

Learn how to conduct a U.S. and international job search. We’ll also be discussing the International Student Interview Program at New York University and the West Coast International LL.M. job fairs. If you are interested in participating in either of these job fairs you will need to register early and should make every effort to attend this program. Lunch will be served.

(Program is at 1:10-2:10 p.m.) Learn about careers in indigent defense from UT Law alumni serving as public defenders. Panelists will discuss their careers and offer advice on how to land a job as a public defender. Moderated by Nicole Simmons, Director of Public Service Programs, Career Services Office. Refreshments will be served.

This is the first of a series of meetings for 2Ls and 3Ls who will be applying for 2015-term clerkships. This meeting is geared towards students who will be applying for the most competitive appellate court clerkships, and will focus on preparation for a January/February application period

Learn strategies to manage your educational debt, including the UT Law and federal loan repayment and forgiveness programs for lawyers pursuing jobs in the government and public interest sectors. Refreshments will be served.

Representatives from the National Security Agency will provide information on the Agency mission and on the application process for their jobs and internships. Presented by the LBJ School of Public Affairs.
