My time at the Children’s Rights Clinic was invaluable. This clinic provides “hands-on” experience in a way new lawyers at firms don’t often get. Within a few weeks of being in the clinic, I was interviewing clients, speaking with other parties’ counsel in the case, and attending court hearings. Because you have a supervising attorney that helps you at the hearings, it’s a really great way for students to try their hand at speaking in front of a judge with a full courtroom audience, knowing that Lori or Leslie will be there in case you accidentally forget something. Now that I’ve passed the Bar and am working at a firm (and have yet to see the inside of a courtroom), I realize how truly amazing and unique that experience was. I would highly, highly recommend this clinic experience.
