Texas Law volunteers fuel the state’s largest provider of pro bono parole services.

“Race, Place, and Fair Housing in Texas: A Statewide Conference” will be held at the University of Texas School of Law on October 15, 2010. The conference will bring together top national experts and leading local practitioners to discuss how recent legal developments affect Texas cities’ obligations to create inclusive housing opportunities for persons of color.

Five students have been selected to serve as Public Service Scholars for 2010–2011 with the William Wayne Justice Center for Public Interest Law at the University of Texas School of Law.

Bill Whitehurst, ’70, and his wife, Stephanie, recently announced that they will give the University of Texas School of Law $125,000 over the next five years to fund the Whitehurst Public Interest Summer Fellowships program.
