The University of Texas School of Law’s interscholastic team has won the regional round of the American Association for Justice’s Student Trial Advocacy Competition, and will compete for a national championship in the competition in New Orleans, Louisiana, in April.
The regional competition was held in Houston from March 7–10, 2013, and sixteen teams competed in this region. The Law School sent two teams to the competition: third-year students Veronica Chidester, Monica Gaudioso, Ryan Goodland, and Jason Sanchez comprised one team, and third-year students Colleen Bloss, Coulter Goodman, Stephen Green, and Brandan Montimony comprised the other team. The Bloss/Goodman/Green/Montminy team beat Baylor Law School in the semi-finals and South Texas College of Law in the finals to win the regional championship. This team will now go to the national competition which will be held April 4–7, 2013, in New Orleans. The teams were coached by Sarah Munson and Christine Nishimura , ’12.
