Texas Law Event: Expert Panel to Discuss Recent SCOTUS Ruling

Texas Law is convening a diverse panel of experts to discuss Thursday’s ruling from the U.S. Supreme Court on the two cases from the 2023 term concerning race-conscious admissions practices at Harvard and the University of North Carolina. The panel will be presented as a webinar on July 6, at 12 p.m. CT.

Associate Dean for Research Melissa Wasserman will moderate the group, which will include Tara Grove, the Vinson & Elkins Chair in Law, and guests John Harrison, from UVA School of Law, and Fred Smith Jr., of Emory University School of Law. The panel will examine the reasoning of the opinion and the dissents, and the likely implications for higher education and beyond.

The webinar is open to all. Register at tiny.cc/jul6-panel.
