What made you choose Texas Law?

I chose Texas Law because they genuinely invest in every student. The superior clinical program, pro bono opportunities, and faculty cultivate a collegial community. There is no better place to be a law student.

What aspect of law school were you most looking forward to?

I am excited to bridge meaningful connections with my classmates and faculty members. Being part of Green Society has been a fulfilling experience, as I genuinely enjoy being around such supportive friends and classmates. A tight-knit group makes the learning environment exciting and more accessible for us to bounce ideas off each other.

What characteristics (or strengths) did you develop as a college athlete playing football at Towson that are proving valuable in law school?

I was a four-year starter on the offensive line at Towson University and Abilene Christian University, at left guard then at center. Playing center required acute attention to the tiny details. I analyzed the opposing defenses, spending 20-25 hours a week studying our opponent’s playing style to identify patterns in their behavior. This meticulousness applies to law school, especially when understanding how the law is used under different circumstances. The second strength I developed was performing under pressure. As the center, I was in charge of identifying the defensive alignment, the mike linebacker, and blitz tendencies … all while visualizing my assignment. I had about 10-12 seconds to do this each play, which meant I had to be comfortable with the pressure. In law school, there are plenty of moments where the pressure can build, and you have to adapt. Lastly, juggling football with academics and life taught me the importance of balance. Similarly, equilibrium is essential to stay afloat in law school.

What is something you’re passionate about outside of classes?

I am passionate about advocating for athletes as they retire. The transition out of a long career is a mentally challenging experience, with many losing their sense of self or purpose. Experiencing this firsthand inspired me to start a small platform called Next Chapter Athletes, where I can discuss the challenges with other athletes and allow them to share their experiences.

What is your favorite law-related movie — and why?

My Cousin Vinny. I’m Italian American and Joe Pesci is a national icon.
