What was the highlight of studying abroad in London?

I studied abroad in the spring of my junior year. My favorite part about living in London was exploring the city with friends. Within a short walk or ride on the tube, we could discover charming cobblestone streets, hidden alleyways, stately courtyards, and lively neighborhood pubs.  Every weekend, I traveled to a different country. I skied the Swiss Alps, surfed in Lisbon, and hiked the Amalfi Coast.

How did playing trombone in the Notre Dame marching band enhance your undergraduate experience and develop important skills?

Marching band helped me develop time management as I had to fit studying between rehearsals, gamedays, and travel. I also honed the ability to learn quickly as we performed a new show each week. Some highlights were marching out of the stadium tunnel to 80,000 screaming fans, experiencing football traditions at other college campuses, and performing in a Disney parade for our bowl game.

What has made you feel part of the Texas Law community?

The Society Program immediately made me feel welcome upon joining Texas Law. The flag football games, trivia nights, and other teambuilding events helped me build a great group of friends and inspired me to serve as a Society Coordinator for this year’s 1L class.

What’s your best advice for incoming 1Ls?

My advice is to cherish your time in 1L and don’t forget to have fun. The year was challenging, but I made countless memories, and it was over before I knew it. Our section became close by the end of the year, and our final class was bittersweet knowing that was the last time we’d all be in the same room together.

What is something you’re passionate about outside of classes?

I love trying new pizza places. Pedroso’s is probably my favorite Austin spot as of now, but I’m always looking for new recommendations!

What is your favorite law-related movie and why?

“My Cousin Vinny” is such a classic. As someone of Italian heritage with a dad who grew up in New Jersey, Vinny reminds me of someone who could be in my family. I like how lighthearted it is … it reminds me that you can have fun being a lawyer.
