Mithoff Program’s Annual Pro Bono Week Luncheon to Recognize Pro Bono Lawyers Helping Detained Immigrant Families

On Thursday, October 29, the Richard and Ginni Mithoff Program will host its annual luncheon in honor of the American Bar Association’s national celebration of pro bono service. The luncheon will feature representatives from Akin Gump, Lincoln-Goldfinch Law, RAICES, and the Texas Law Civil Rights Clinic, who will discuss their work with immigrant families detained in Karnes City, Texas. Their discussion will focus on the campaign to end family detention, how lawyers in different practice settings can collaborate on coordinated pro bono efforts, and how pro bono representation in individual cases can contribute to campaigns for broader social justice goals.

The lunch event “Pro Bono for a Cause: Pro Bono Collaboration to Represent Immigrant Families and End Family Detention” will take place from 11:45am-1pm in TNH 2.138 on Oct. 29. Featured speakers include:
