Students will help prepare humanitarian parole applications for U.S. military veterans who have been deported from the United States. Many deported veterans were legal permanent residents who were deported following criminal legal system involvement. Humanitarian parole is a tool that allows certain individuals to enter and stay in the U.S. without a visa for urgent humanitarian reasons. For veterans, humanitarian reasons for parole may include the need to obtain medical care from VA facilities or to assist dependent family members who live in the United States.
