Students will assist in the Equal Justice Center’s community outreach and education campaign by speaking with low-wage workers and distributing literature at jobsites, local businesses, and community organizations frequented by low-wage, immigrant workers. This outreach is designed to inform workers about their wage rights and enforcement remedies and to connect them with EJC staff attorneys for legal consultations and action. Legal training and mentoring will be provided by EJC staff attorneys.
Organization
The Equal Justice Center
Equal Justice Center (EJC) is a public interest law firm and employment justice organization that empowers low-wage workers to achieve workplace justice regardless of their immigration status. EJC provides legal representation that enables working men and women to recover unpaid wages and combat other basic injustices they encounter in their work. We work for systemic reforms that strengthen employment rights and expand access to the justice system for all working people.
