Expunction Project Leads will work closely with the Educational Equity Fellow and Pro Bono Scholars to manage several expunction and nondisclosure cases from intake through conclusion. Expunction Project Leads will play a leadership role in the Expunction Project and will be responsible for: (1) evaluating clients’ files to identify missing documents; (2) assisting in the request and collection of documents needed to complete each client file for Travis County applicants; (3) drafting request letters and following up with court clerks to ensure document acquisition for non-Travis County applicants; (4) drafting client petitions for expunction and non-disclosure, and incorporating edits on petitions; and (5) working with clients and preparing client files for the various stages of Expunction, including organizing a client’s file for efficient and accurate petition drafting at work sessions, as well as providing a complete file for exit sessions.
