Texas Law Asylum Workshop

Students will help asylum seekers prepare applications for asylum. Students will work in pairs to interview asylum seekers to gather information and to complete USCIS asylum forms. Asylum is available to immigrants who have fled their home countries because of persecution and/or torture due to their race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group.

Mithoff Pro Bono Program

The Asylum Workshop is an internal project of the Mithoff Pro Bono Program, hosted in partnership with Casa Marianella. Casa Marianella is an Austin-based organization that has provided shelter and supportive services to asylum seekers in Austin since 1986.
