Texas Law Trans Name and Gender Marker Project Exit Session

Students will meet with transgender individuals who are seeking to legally change their name and gender marker on basic forms of identification. Students will review previously-prepared petitions for name and gender marker change with the applicants and finalize those petitions. Students will prepare affidavits of inability to pay court filing costs for eligible applicants. Student will prepare applications to conform applicants’ driver’s licenses, social security records, and birth certificates to the provisions of the name and gender marker correction order.
