Tag Jurisdiction is a law school-wide game styled after Assassin. The rules are simple: you will receive a law student’s name, and this student will be your target. You will be required to serve that person. You accomplish this by finding your target and announcing that the person has been served, then handing the target a folded piece of paper with their name on it. The person is then out of the game, and must surrender their current target to you. That becomes your next target. The last person standing is the champion and wins TWO TICKETS to Assault & Flattery, Friday March 4th! The Rapoport Center for Human Rights and Justice and the Lozano Long Institute for Latin American Studies (LLILAS) present a roundtable: "Certifiably Fair: Can Consumers Monitor Human Rights?" The roundtable will consider the possibilities and limitations of various forms of certification regimes for the realization, enforcement and governance of human rights. It is part of a larger project of the Rapoport Center that is examining relationships among natural resource governance, economic inequality and human rights. The occasion for this roundtable is to take advantage of the visit of Professor José Aylwin, who will be here for a week as a LLILAS Visiting Resource Professor. Additional participants include Sean Sellers, the co-founder and a senior investigator at the Fair Food Council and a staff-member of the newly created Worker-driven Social Responsibility Collaborative, Jessica Champagne, the Director of Research and Advocacy for the Worker Rights Consortium, an independent labor rights monitoring organization, and Michael Conroy, a principal of "Colibrí Consulting – Certification for Sustainable Development."

Attorney Scott Hendler of Hendler Lyons Flores (Austin) will talk about his experience litigating the 'DBCP' cases, lawsuits against large American corporations on behalf of Central American agricultural workers, in particular on banana plantations, for infertility linked to the use of an insecticide. He will also talk and answer questions about his experience more generally working at the intersection of personal injury, environmental law, labor relations and international human rights, and how one can integrate work in these areas into a thriving private practice. Captive hunts, also known as “canned hunts,” are the very opposite of traditional "fair chase" hunting. Shooters at captive hunts pay to kill animals—even endangered species—trapped behind fences. The Texas Director of the Humane Society of the United States will speak about this industry and its conservation impacts on native wildlife, current regulations, and the future of hunting in Texas.
