Texas Law faculty are invited to join us on Oct. 10, 2025 to celebrate “Outgunned No More: The New Era of Firearm Industry Accountability,” the latest book by Professor Linda Mullenix.

Mullenix, the Morris & Rita Chair in Advocacy, teaches civil procedure, mass tort and class action litigation, and transnational collective redress. “Outgunned No More” is her 27th book, following “Public Nuisance: The New Mass Tort Frontier,” and extends her recent scholarship primarily focusing on civil and mass tort litigation relating to gun regulation.

In “Outgunned No More,” Mullenix explores the evolving legal strategies used to hold the firearms industry accountable for its role in gun violence in the U.S. and Mexico. The book examines previous state and federal efforts that have failed to regulate firearms, instead suggesting robust consumer protection and mass tort litigation. Mullenix outlines three important interventions: the 1998 Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement, Connecticut’s Sandy Hook elementary school litigation, and the recent enactment of consumer protection and public nuisance firearms mass tort litigation.

The Bookfest, which includes a lunch and runs from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., will take place in the Sheffield-Massey room (TNH 2.111) and is open to Texas Law faculty. Guest panelists include Robert Peck, president and founder of the Center for Constitutional Litigation; David Pucino, legal director and deputy chief counsel at Giffords Law Center; and Professor Lawrence Sager, Alice Jane Drysdale Sheffield Regents Chair at Texas Law. Professor Thomas McGarity ’74 will serve as the moderator.
