Employers may recruit 2Ls, 3Ls, domestic and foreign-trained LL.M.s, and recent graduates (up to one year after graduation) for summer clerkships or postgraduate positions.

For Students

Rising 2Ls, 3Ls, and recent grads may apply (submit bids) at any time as there is no advantage to bidding early. If you choose to participate in the Summer Interview Program, it is important to keep in mind that this program is just one avenue for conducting your job search as many participating employers tend to have fairly established hiring criteria.

We encourage you to submit your resume and cover letter for review by a career counselor prior to bidding by sending them to cso-resumes@law.utexas.edu.

For Employers

Interviewing dates are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.  If you are only submitting a resume collection, you may skip the first step and register directly onto Symplicity.

Lottery Component

  • For your first and second interview schedules, 70 percent of scheduled interviews will be awarded by lottery and 30 percent by your preselections.
  • For your third or more interview schedules, 50 percent of scheduled interviews will be awarded by lottery and 50 percent by your preselections.

Two-Step Registration for the Summer Interview Program
Employer registration opens at 12:00 p.m. (CT) on Tuesday, March 21, with early registration closing at 12:00 p.m. (CT) on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. 

Step 1 | First, submit your registration via the CSO website. This streamlined registration process will allow you to quickly register by providing a few basic details. Interviewing dates will be scheduled based on this registration timestamp.

Step 2 | Once you have completed the step above, log into your Symplicity account to complete your detailed schedule request(s).

  1. Log into Symplicity. Your username is your complete email address.
  2. Select [ Interview Programs ] and then [ Schedule Request ].
  3. Click [ Request a Schedule ].
  4. From the [ Sessions ] drop-down menu, select [ Summer Interview Program 2023 ]
  5. Complete the form.
  6. Please be sure to add your interviewer name(s) in the [ Interviewer Name ] field. You may have up to five (5) interviewers for each interview.
  7. Click the [ Submit ] button.
