The Law School’s Marketing and Communications Office manages the digital displays throughout the Law School.
How to Make and Submit
Student organizations, Law School offices, and UT units may submit a request to display a digital poster that promotes deadlines, events, important dates, and information relevant to Texas Law students. Submitted posters are reviewed for clarity, purpose, appropriateness, and timeliness.
Accepted digital posters are displayed in rotation on the hallway displays and may be featured in our weekly Instagram stories.
-
Keep content to a minimum, as a poster is meant to be quick and to the point. Include only the basics: the who, what, when, and where. Event posters must include the event title, the organization’s name and/or logo. Please include the date, time, registration information, and call-to-action link (if applicable).
Call-to-Action Links
- Please include a URL, even if the poster has a QR code. If your URL is long, you can shorten it with an online tool like bit.ly or tiny.url. Note: Posters using QR codes without a URL may not be shared to our Instagram stories.
- Tip: Leave off the https:// as well as any trailing /. Example: instead of “https://law.utexas.edu/” use “law.utexas.edu“
- Please TEST YOUR LINK and your QR Code before submitting your poster.
Fonts/Typefaces – limit fonts and colors to two or three each.
Backgrounds – to assist with readability, simplify background graphics and choose background colors that contrast with your text to make it sure it’s legible.
Margins / Clear Space – keep text away from the edges.
Texas Law Branding – any Texas Law-branded marks must follow these branding guidelines.
-
At least three business days before your event/program should start to be publicized, please email your files to digitalposters@law.utexas.edu with the following info:
- Date of event/deadline
- Name of organization/department
- Title of event/announcement
- Instagram account (if any)
- URL link used in the poster (if any)
- And attach your file(s), named with the same (abbreviated) info:
- YYYY-MM-DD_MyOrg_Program.png
Digital posters will be posted for up to two weeks before a program, event, or deadline.
