The Green Bag Almanac & Reader 2011 includes writing by two members of the UT Law community—Professor Justin Driver and Judge Diane Wood, ’75. The collection recognizes outstanding legal writing from a variety of sources. -

Meredith Shytles, a third-year student at the Law School, has won a prestigious post-graduate Skadden Fellowship. Shytles will use the fellowship at Austin-based Advocacy Inc., working with teenage girls with disabilities in the foster care or juvenile justice system. -

Elton M. Hyder III, ’80, president and CEO of EMH Corporation of Fort Worth, Texas, was elected to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Board of Directors by its member banks on October 21, 2010. Hyder’s three-year term began January 1, 2011. -

UT Law's Community Development Clinic has been helping residents of Rancho Vista, a small colonia outside San Marcos, secure title to their homes, set up a nonprofit corporation to aid with home repairs, and prepare legislation that would make it easier for them to qualify for a homestead exemption. -

Malpractice lawsuits study by Professors Bill Sage and Charles Silver cited in the New York Times
A study cowritten by two Law School professors, William Sage and Charles Silver, "Do the Elderly Fare in Medical Malpractice Litigation, Before and After Tort Reform? Evidence from Texas, 1988-2007," was cited in a recent New York Times article about the effects of Texas's tort reform laws on lawyers and patients. -
