On Wednesday, November 3, 2010, the American Constitution Society will host Dan Rodriguez, the Minerva House Drysdale Regents Chair in Law, who will discuss the gay marriage litigation of the last decade, touching on both the constitutional issues it raises and the strategic choices the gay rights movement has made in its litigation efforts. It will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Eidman Courtroom at the School of Law. -

State of Arizona will be heard by a panel of three judges of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on Monday, November 1, 2010, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Pacific time, 11:00 a.m. Central. The panel has given consent for live broadcast of the proceeding and the School of Law will make this broadcast available in the Francis Auditorium. -

Human Rights Clinic Releases Report on Impact of Dam Construction on Indigenous Group
A report researched and written by faculty and students in the Law School’s Human Rights Clinic details the struggles of Costa Rica’s indigenous Teribe tribe in the face of a proposed dam on the Terraba River, which threatens to flood their lands. -

Texas Law Fellowships hosts annual auction to fund public interest law projects, October 21, 2010
The Fall Auction annually kicks off Texas Law Fellowships’ year-long fundraising efforts. In 2009, the Auction raised approximately $13,000 to fund fellowships for students who worked in public interest internships during the summer of 2010. Items for sale in the Auction are donated by area businesses, as well as by faculty and staff of the School of Law. -
